This blog was first inspired by a good friend of ours, Rob Woolford of dr1.com. He invited us to write a blog on our experiences running a beach bar operation in the exotic location of Boca Chica some 35 kilometers to the east of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic part of the island of Hispaniola.

Some years later this is the result of taking up that invitation, and here we present some of the stories that were thrown up along the way as we sailed on the good ship “Playa Vista” through calm and stormy seas.
